This summer, the Masía Bas in Platja d’Aro hosts one of the outstanding areas highlighted by the Centenary: the link between S’Agaró and cinema. Those productions in which S’Agaró has been the main stage are remembered, projecting several of these films in open-air cinema sessions.

Throughout its 100 years of history, S’Agaró has become a film and television set on numerous occasions. In the 1950s, coinciding with the first emergence of the Costa Brava as a film setting, it received visits from great international screen stars.

It has hosted great dramas, fantastic stories and classic thrillers, but also television comedies and short films by local authors. It has appeared in a single shot, but also in long sequences, and always with a common denominator: the corners of S’Agaró, whether interior or exterior, it has contributed decisively to projecting the fascinating atmospheres of the great stories that have been told.

This exhibition offers a look at some of these works, both what happened behind the scenes and what ended up being shown in movie theaters and on televisions.
